The absolute best way to find out about a web designer's history and work methods is to visit a website in the designer's portfolio and find a former client's e-mail address. Send this form client an e-mail and ask them a few questions, such as:
>How long did it take this web designer to build your web site after he received all your content and was given a down payment? Was it a reasonable turnaround considering the size of the project?
>Did this web designer respond quickly to e-mails and was he/she available consistently during normal business hours over the phone?
>Was this designer receptive of your input and did he/she attempt to meet all of your requests in regards to structure, style and overall site design?
>Do you believe this designer charged you a reasonable fee for services rendered?
>Was this designer professional and polite, and would you consider hiring them again in the future?
